Membership to the congregation is open to any person who is halachically Jewish. A membership form has to be completed and submitted to the Administration office. The membership has to be approved by the Rabbi of the Congregation, which is then sent to the Gabay’s Committee for assessing of the annual finta (annual subscription). The application is then approved by the Board of Trustees.
Please contact the office for the latest rates of the annual finta (annual subscription).
Please click here to apply for membership or contact the office to obtain a hard copy of the membership form.
Members (who are taxpayers) can pay their Finta, as well as any donations, however large or small, under the GIFT AID Declaration Scheme. You must pay an amount of income tax and/or capital gains tax at least equal to the tax that the charity reclaims on your finta/donations in the tax year. If you pay tax at the higher rate you can claim further tax relief in your Self Assessment tax return.
The Gift Aid Declaration form can be downloaded here.
FBH is now closed and has been replaced by the New Burial Scheme (NBS)
The new scheme is a simple, transparent and competitive model which is akin to schemes already being offered by other mainstream orthodox communities with burial services.
The key points of the NBS are
– Members pay an annual contribution to the scheme – on launching this will be £95 per annum
– All costs of funerals are covered from the point of joining the scheme*
– There are no prerequisite conditions or medical required i.e. anyone can join providing they are members of the S&P Sephardi Community
Please note that the current burial scheme (including those who have paid Finta Beth Haim) will continue for those already in the scheme.
For further information on joining the new scheme please contact Helen Doherty via email: [email protected]
