Bevis Marks Ambassador Programme

Bevis Marks Synagogue seeks young people to play a pivotal role in the redevelopment of our City of London community.

Founded in 1701, Bevis Marks Synagogue is the oldest synagogue in the UK, and it continues to maintain its historic and beautiful Spanish & Portuguese rite. The area around the City of London is undergoing regeneration. Jewish City professionals and University students now call it home. Our community seeks to cement that growth with the introduction of role models and ambassadors to promote and strengthen our community. We seek individuals and young families who wish to help re-establish a thriving Jewish community in and around London’s bustling and trendy financial centre.

Applicants should be aged 20-35, observant and intend to live locally to Bevis (within 30 minutes walk). The post is voluntary but synagogue-related expenses (events, dinners, home hosting costs, etc) will be covered by the S&P Sephardi Community and some funded bursaries are available. If you are interested please e-mail [email protected] for further information. Application is by covering letter to the same e-mail address.
