René Cassin at Bevis Marks – Wine, Cheese and Human Rights!

March 20, 2018 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

£10.00

10 days before the start of Pesach, you are invited to an evening of wine, cheese and stimulating conversations celebrating what’s Jewish about the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in its 70th anniversary year. This event is an exciting collaboration between Rabbi Morris, the Bevis Marks community and René Cassin, an organisation that draws on Jewish values and experience to promote and protect human rights in the UK.

Over the course of the evening, you will be treated to:

A tour of Bevis Marks synagogue, including an introduction to the unique Jewish contribution to the modern human rights framework

A wide selection of excellent Kosher wines and cheese

The chance to join discussions about current campaigns in the community including:

Pesach and the campaign to end modern-day slavery.

Loving the stranger – Jewish responses to indefinite detention

Hate crime – the need for cross-communal responses

Come along to hear different views, join the conversation and find out how you can make a difference.
